The Beginnings of Rabbi Shmuel Waldman's Religious Education

Rabbi Shmuel Waldman is 60 years old. His career in religious education has taken him through a wide range of occupations. At 17, he began listening to Rabbi Avigdor Miller's cassette messages and persuaded many others to do the same. In addition, he was close to Rabbi Don Segal shlit"a, the previous mashgich of Mirrer Yeshiva.
He attended the Kollel of the Mirrer Yeshiva for four years before joining the Yeshiva Mercaz Hatorah of Belle Harbor. After two years at the Kollel, he was asked to serve as Mashgiach of the High School. He intended to eventually appoint him Kollel head. Among his duties as Mashgiach was delivering weekly Torah lectures to the High School boys. As part of his efforts to encourage them to achieve greater spiritual heights, he also had one-on-one discussions with them. As a result of his excellent lectures, he decided to turn them into a book to share with others.

The current life of Rabbi Waldman

The Rabbi Waldman family consists of 13 children and many grandchildren. In order to provide for his family, Rabbi Waldman had to leave his teaching profession. His Torah education has also been rigorous. His part-time job is selling herbal supplements and he is now a member of a morning shul.

In the near future, Rabbi Shmuel Waldman will return to lecturing on Jewish education once his Sefer on Tefilla and blog are completed.
